Burg Nanstein - Landstuhl, Germany (via fisherbray)
We used to hike to this castle from our apartment in Landstuhl. It is a steep but short climb but probably faster on foot (at least from our apartment) than if we tried to drive around the back. Our street was named after one of the most famous owners of the castle, Franz Von Sickingen.

We lived in Ramstein, in a townhouse very near the end of the runways from the AFB. I liked the area, but it was so overcrowded with Americans, it wasn’t much like living in Germany at all. Then we moved to Wiesbaden (after a tour in Virginia) and I absolutely LOVED that area. Germany is the SHIT! I can’t wait to go back with my wife and kids and show off my old haunts … one of these years.
