Politics is rough
My daughter ran for Treasurer of the Student Council for next year. She was up against two other girls, both of whom are very popular One’s mother is a teacher at the school. The election was today.
It was a tie between the two other girls. So, they’re co-Treasurers. Fortunately, everybody who ran still has a place on the Council, so my daughter is a representative. It’s not a “named” position, but its something.
I can’t tell you how proud of her I am though. She worked really hard on her speech and posters and stickers to hand out. She was heartbroken, poor kid. She’ll feel better come next year, I’m sure.
Can I say how rotten that is though? Only three people ran for the position, and they award it to two of them? Oh well, better luck next year. Eh?
