Good:

Took the day off work to spend with my son for his Birthday
Saw Wall-E (great flick)
Shopped for Lego with my son
Got Guitar Hero III: Aerosmith for me
Dinner at Macaroni Grill

Bad:

Verizon cut through our existing cable line as they’re installing FiOS in the area
Dealing with customer service people
Knowing we’re going to be without Phone, Internet and TV for DAYS
Having to go to work tomorrow
Having 20 emails to deal with from work today

Ooh, one more good … having a blackberry that I can tether my computer to and use as a modem. Internets YAY!

That puts one more in the “good” column than the “bad” column. So it must’ve been a good day.

We’ve been working on switching the kids’ bedrooms this weekend. That meant a lot of painting, building furniture, moving things around, etc. Body is tired, but I’m still wired. Trying to come down to get some sleep. Head starting to hurt too. Blerg. I’ll post pictures of the bedrooms in the next couple days … we’re still waiting on one piece of furniture to be delivered.

“Google Trends is being used in a novel way in a pornography trial in Florida. Under a 1973 Supreme Court ruling, ‘contemporary community standards’ may be used as a yardstick for judging material as unprotected obscenity. This is a very subjective judgment, and so Lawrence Walters, a defense lawyer for Clinton Raymond McCowen, is using Google Trends to show that, in the privacy of their own homes, more people in Pensacola (the only city in the court’s jurisdiction that is large enough to be singled out in the service’s data) are interested in ‘orgy’ than “apple pie’.”

In other words, the defense is attempting to use Google tools to show that porn isn’t obscene because so many people are searching for it at home. Genius!

The apps still need some work, but so far … WOW. Intuitive and all web-based. Easy too. Not as full-featured as Photoshop, obviously; but there are layers and you can import other images and apply filters and all that. Cool beans!

Just got an invite for a “suite of web-based applications for people who create” … taken straight from their site: a.viary.com.

So what does that mean? I’m not completely sure. Right now it looks like it’s an online image editor and pattern maker. I think they’re going to have more apps eventually, like a video editor, typography apps, music apps, and even a 3D program. Sounds cool … we’ll see!

Like I said, I JUST got the invite, so I’ll let ya know my impressions after I play with it for a while.
